How do we actually read the Bible?

Most Christians believe that reading the Bible is important, but few have actually been trained on how to approach this rich, complex, and ancient text.

In this course, professor Andrew Abernethy outlines a six-step model for Bible study, systematically breaking down the process so that everyday Christians can approach the Bible with confidence:

• 1-Posture: the necessary heart posture of childlike dependence

• 2&3-Flow & Context: engaging the literary and historical background of the passage

• 4-Whole Bible: theological interpretation

• 5-Savor God: prayerful engagement

• 6-Faithful Response: transformation into action.

By taking this course, you will learn a practical framework to read the Bible with greater understanding and, most importantly, become mobilized to personally engage with the God who speaks through the Scriptures.
